Well I certainly haven't posted on this here LiveJournal for what can be considered a fair bit more than a long while, and I suppose that's just no good, is it? I mean, how on earth would the (at most) five people who used to read this even think to carry on with their lives without a proper documented essay on the on goings of my past few months? Quite the unbearable thought, I would say, but hell, if you're reading this, it probably was quite the unbearable thought and you're even more pathetic than I thought. Just kidding.

I honestly just tried to walk away from doing this, but my cat gave me a funny look. Cats are cool because I said so and if you think otherwise than you're wrong, any questions? Oh well, moving on.

It has come to my realization that this LiveJournal is no longer about me - quite the unfortunate situation. Of course, that's simply because my name is no longer "Cairthenn," but Cair. Shorter names are always easier, and everyone called me Cair in-game anyways except the select few who get a laugh out of calling me Mark  in game (my actual name if that wasn't apparent) so the name change didn't do much, it was only for simplicity's sake.

"Lolw a name change so what server are you on?" Maybe my name was just deemed inappropriate and I was forced to change it and I'm making my dreary way on Shiva! That would be hell, actually, but I'm glad I decided against going back to Bismarck. The addition of Legacy from Titan to Bismarck would just bring it from shit to shit and drama filled. I could live without the consistent Nidhogg flail, anyways, I'm too lazy to join merit parties.

Um, so why am I on Kujata? Honestly I have no clue. In all honesty I decided to apply to Demo rather impulsively while my dear Whimsic was mad at me; of course this only angered in further but what can a brotha do? Despite me applying for the wrong reasons I'm actually fairly pleased with Demo thus far, theres some nice people and they get shit done, win-win it would seem. In fact, in my first salvage run here I received the oh so lovely Enlil's gambison which apparently was not worthy enough to be screen-shotted (really, I suppose it isn't).

Anyways, Kujata ended up being quite the lonely place for me personally. Way to move to a server with no friends, I know, I know. But it's okay! All I had to do was hold my breath and... level Warrior?

Despite my exclamations on how I would never touch a melee job, my low attention span and desirability to be a loot whore disagreed with my early decisions. After skilling up my great axe to a level that would be acceptable for a level sync party (my Great Axe was level 8 and my WAR was left at level 41 due to Summoner burns), I began to XP in my free time and have since reached level 61 with some pretty decent gear in my possession. Level 75 gear is another question, but I do have a fair amount of the more expensive and cool gear in my possession, go me? I expect to finish it as quickly as I possibly can while maintaining a reasonable amount of gil. If only ENMs would decide to be nicer to me, again!

Now here is something I was quite excited about:

Kupofried's ring is simply a blessing. Along with it I got a nice Opaline Dress. You know what they say, if the dress fits. Yeah, but it doesn't. FML. Anyways, the Kupofried's Ring and Anniversary ring largely added in my leveling of Warrior as well as the completion of my Samurai sub (to level 42, I was the level sync and they wanted to keep going) in two days. I still have four more charges left on that ring and plan on using them to further level Warrior. Hopefully I'll find another after? Perhaps one that also rewards a neat addtional item! Wouldn't that just be swell? :)

A brief announcement for all of you religion freaks:

Jesus, only 90k. Supposedly resembles a large fire.

Speaking of religion nerds, I wonder if this super star will purchase a limited edition Jesus? Note the "god bless."

He was the type of guy who had an annoying Party chat macro for every action he could possibly use. Even better he was Paladin. They weren't the regular newbie macros stating what he was using either, they were the self-thought, annoying and childish looking ones. "Bet you stop when I bust you dome with this shield," was one of them, except with worse grammar and repeated several times per action because he just couldn't seem to get it to work. Long story short, I disbanded, he cried, less e-thug more moving on.

Time for more pictures that take up space, except this one is far more exciting!

Now who are those two angels?! Well one is me and the other is mine as far as I'm concerned, so GTFO. Okay, okay. Explanation time! After a month or so of begging and crying (literally once, God I'm pathetic), I finally got Whim to switch over to Kujata with me. He was quite reluctant at first, despite the awesome temptation provided (me, obviously). But, I eventually get my way. Always. Bahaha. Okay, enough of that. I had to bribe him by paying for it and offering to help with absolutely everything (which I don't mind at all, it's simply a bonus for me). Sky only took two days (as it should, since we had started late), and we're slowly going to push toward sea to make him that much less useless! Hurray! I'm honestly ecstatic that he's on the same server as me again, probably more-so than he is, regardless of what he says. ^_^

The mandatory "I got sky!" picture. Are we not just adorable? In-game wedding soon to come, hopefully! ;)

This LiveJournal entry is seemingly never-ending, isn't it? I'll admit, it probably is the longest of mine. This probably has something to do with the fact that I actually bothered to write lots of sentences or something of the sort. Well I have more, if this wasn't already enough. Along with my Whimmy, Nours joined me on Kujata. He is also in Demo, which means we're once again in the same Linkshell (this is quite the occurrence, really - it hasn't happened since Clovers on Titan, several years ago). The only thing he's truly useful for is his Kraken Club which still has not capped by club skill, by the way. (I'm obviously kidding, it's great to actually know people on Kujata after several weeks of being alone.) That said, I wasn't completely alone, much of Demo is fairly welcoming and I made quite a few friends already, which is cool...I think... maybe not... actually, no. :D

In EVEN MOAR NEVER ENDING NEWS, another friend on mine, Thal, applied to Demo as of yesterday, which would mean 3 long time friends on Kujata, which is simply awesome. Hope he gets accepted, which he very well should. If not I'll bitch, you don't want me angry. Really.

I suppose it would be useful to mention the fact that it's nearly one in the morning and I promised that I'd be up in around four hours seeing as I have school tomorrow. I wish Whim's and my own time zone didn't conflict so much. I suppose it could be worse. I'll end up in the UK one day, anyways, the United States suck. That way, I can get made fun of for my accent and the various names that we Americans give to things. It's a brilliant plan really.

Final closing note: Demo needs to do more useful Dynamis. Our Beaucedine today yielded 18 pieces of AFv2, the majority of which nobody wanted. Case in point:

Yes, I got six.

On the plus side, I had actually wanted Summoner's Doublet. It's quite the nice piece. The rest of those jobs are at 37 or below and it provides quite the unfortunate situation inventory wise. Drops that I wanted that didn't go freelot included Sorcerer's Coat and Cleric's Briault. I was issued a very stern warning by Whim against obtaining Briault though, so I think I'll just keep my White Mage at 60 to prevent me from actually need-wanting (yes I made up that term) it.

I do believe that's actually all. Until next time, whenever that may be!

IDDIL!

Just your average, post-maintenance useless swords. It just doesn't have the same exciting feeling to see a Ridill in the treasure pool. Perhaps I'm only speaking for myself, but I honestly doubt it. Congratulations to Forewarned, now go sub White Mage.

In personal HNM news, in getting caught up with the game I did my first, second, third, and so on Dark Ixions and grabbed myself an Ixion Cape without much trouble. That certainly made the Gleeman's that Nours got for me while I wasn't playing much less useful. On the topic of my character, rebuilding it is going fairly well with the much appreciated help of Despot and ENM drops (Cloud Evoker, Forager's Mantle to name a few). I'm already back to working on some of the "non-essential" things (someone sell me an Errant Cape!)

Moving on, I attended my first Odin run, which now happens a lot more often considering they changed the method of entry just after I left. Well, I broke his drops for the worse.

It was such a disappointment for my fist run. I blame Shievina - his TH4 undrops things, except D. Feet, which I was surprised to not see in the treasure pool.

In other news, Square Enix does have a sense of humor. Madness you say?! I think not!

Coinciding with that, and upon successful completion of an incredibly long cutscene and some fantastic games of rock, scissors, paper, I finally ranked up to First Lieutenant. As for captain, I currently only have 32 out of 50 assaults done, but it'll work in my favor eventually.

In further madness, Batosai turned Arabic on us.

l 7 o 7 l

If you noticed, or even if you didn't, the above screenshot is taken place during a Bastok mission. Fuck Bastok and everything, but Nours and I were bored and figured it'd be good to get the missions done. So we just did that: Rank 1 to 10 in about 24 hours. Thank god for the fact that there aren't and Japanese midnight waits in this mission set, it would have had me under Bastok's allegience far longer than I desire to be.

Cool, all three nation flags.

Anyways, Jhun finally scheduled the Dynamis - Qufim run I needed for my Tavnazia access. That went well, with some decent drops I don't feel like mentioning. My first Dynamis - Tavnazia went a bit better than the Qufim, though, and there is a drop I do feel worth mentioning:

Only my second piece of Red Mage AF2 in over three years, I almost had a heart attack when my lot was over 900. Hopes for Chapeau to finally come? Possibly!

I do have quite a bit more to share... but it can be saved for the subsequent update, because I'm sure you'd be bored reading by now anyways. Back to watching Nours kill Beastmaster pets...wait, wut?

If anyone was still visiting this page in the past few months (I pray that you were not, I'd almost feel bad), you'd have noticed that the previous post of me taking my farewell from Final Fantasy was deleted. One would hope that it was out of sheer boredom and random coincidence that I deleted it, but of course that's not the case.

After a long while of joking persuasion and a short while of seriousness, I somehow find myself back at this loving time-sink of a hell hole. Oh, and guess where I am?

Fuck.

Yes, that is me at Tiamat in hopes of Herald's Gaiters in at least some point in the future.

"But I thought you had them?"

Well, when I quit, I gave the Gaiters back to FoReal (No, I don't regret my decision, regardless if it means camping this silly Grand again.) as there really is no use for an extra 12% movement speed on a character that's not going anywhere, now is there?

The downside to that point of view is that I had also given everything else away. Everything. So, as you can imagine, I'm slowly working my way back up from nothing with some much appreciated help from Nours, Liav, and Hieisuin (thanks for the loans :3).

Prior to me officially returning to the game, I would ocassionally run Sheep In An Antlion's Clothing ENM with Nours. In the past three runs, he got away with two Forager's Mantles, that White Mage armor crafting material (excuse name ignorance) a Cloud Evoker, and a Hagun. Though I'm largely expecting that luck to turn around now that I'm involved in the profits, I wish it wouldn't as it would be extremely helpful in refining the basic gear my character still needs (especially HQ Staves).

One bonus in my return to the game is that in my absence, Nours leveled one of my favorite (if not my favorite) jobs to 75 - Bard. Despite my lack of gear, it's still fairly usable due to versatility of prior Rare/Exclusive gear I was using for my other jobs.

Anyways, it's probably best that I stare at a blank screen for a few more hours before I pass out and come home from school tomorrow to find out that Tiamat never did pop before maintenence. It's not like I expect it to, anyways. I know how her mind works. She's like my best friend. Seriously. We text all night.

Two final notes:

Whimsic is a meanie.

Thank you Jhun, Zoreeno, and Thalia for welcoming back into FoReal without a second thought. <3

Well, 12 runs have passed without a single Chapeau dropping. Our luck is pretty horrible with Dynamis - Xarcabard, as others may contest to.

But, I finally got a hat!

Yessss!

Anyways, two good things managed to reveal themselves this run; Sorcerer's Petasos and Valor Surcoat (huge congratulations to Hieisuin who also got an awesome Koenig Cuirass earlier this morning). Oh, and we got Meiboure his Fragment for our next random (seriously, we have the strangest assortment...) relic! I believe his Spharai will be complete as soon as he gets his Attestation... It was a pretty interesting fight. After having the stupid thing Warp twice, we decided to go all out and managed to kill it in a matter of about 10 seconds.

We've been camping Vivian a bit. Although I do feel a bit overly lucky with our drop rate, I can't complain. I manged to win the second time it dropped, making me 1/2 on winning, if you see what I did there. 12 isn't really a good number, I can't stick with it that much longer...

Ignore the wire-frame and focus on the lovely new ring :] There was a bit of bitching afterwards, but nothing worth mentioning in-depth. Altert me when you're special enough to bypass previously established lotting rules and I'll pass things for you.

So, yeah...the number twelve...right.... So what? I picked a bad theme.

Oh, fine. These are related:

I feel inclined to do something more interesting than running in circles at enhanced speeds. I suppose it would be a good time to go for that Altruistic Cape I've been wanting - just maybe!

Egh, a screenshot of my gear...I should posts my sets soon, perhaps next entry. That's an idea - all this rubbish is probably boring anyways.

I've been looking for ways to make money just in case my Mog Bonanza plan fails (but seriously, theres no way it can, I have it all figured out, really!) and have stumbled upon Big Bomb.

The drop rate is worse than I thought it was, but it passes time. Out of 6 pops, the only thing I've seen is this:

Eh, I'll see something soon, I hope. I really want to work on a tanking set for my Red Mage. I don't think I'd be able to use it often, but I'm bored enough to try. Half the stuff I want to buy for it isn't on the Auction House to begin with at the moment, and I kind of wish I'd have a bit of Gil on hand before it is.

Just a few more things to add; this update isn't as content friendly, sorry.

Apparently, "Fucking Dynamis" can be found exceedingly offensive. Well, as the screenshot clearly shows, whoever wanted me banned, suspended or whatever didn't succeed. I was merely cautioned! Hah, take that.

Lastly, I present to you the only person ever...

...to care about his Dia damage.

Good job, Whimsic!

Anyways, I didn't really have much planned for this...I promise gear sets for my next large (assuming I have any 'smaller') update, I hope that'll be more interesting.

Glad to entertain your boredom, and remember to celebrate Cinco De Mayo!!

Nom Nom Nom.

20 April 2008 @ 10:55 am
It's been awhile. It has probably been shorter than I think it's been though. I mean, in all honesty it hasn't been a month yet. But when I realized people do actually read this (realize, I say, because I've always known, just never taken it to full seriousness), I felt obliged to update. Mostly so I don't log in to this again tomorrow.

I've actually received a lot of comments, some from people whom I don't even know, about my Livejournal recently..and well...it's rather amusing. While I don't intend this to be anything huge, it's still cool that people do read it.

I do have quite a bit to update on. Photoshop actually froze because I tried to open all the screen shots at once - never doing that again. Chronologically would probably be the best order. I mean, if you fuck up the sequence of time, what's next? Adaman Hauberk might turn blue, that's what. I went there.

In my defense, he's the one that said it - I just made it apparent as to what he was trying to say! I know you were trying to say it, so don't tell me you weren't with that "plurple" bullshit!

Anyways, back to the point of this thing: to tell you about the stuff that really doesn't interest you but makes me feel much better.

I finally got done with those stupid Lebros Cavern assaults! It was a win-win-win situation. Not only did I get my Crackows, the appraisal item dropped and I won (so what if I don't have NIN leveled and it sucks anyways), and I got my promotion to Corporal. Continuing on this streak of "luck," the Warhorse Hoofprint was in the very first place I checked! What an easy rank up. Sadly, I still need to get several more, as I would like to start Salvage eventually, and joining a group with a bad assault rank isn't benefiting anyone.

I know we all have our usual "not so intelligent people" but Bismarck has a damn good portion of them when they are given the temptation. Basically, a new, less than intelligent person appeared in Whitegate shouting to sell rare items for more than 10 times their worth. Well, he decided to hold a contest. The image below is nowhere near the full extent of what ensued. I couldn't see my chat log previous to when this began.

I don't believe it's too hard to figure out what was going on. Needless to say, someone did roll 999 eventually. At this point, whoever was running this "contest" disconnected. That's too bad. :(

In the spirit of me obtaining new shoes, look at what I got!

If you were expecting Gaiters, try again next time! These were a very welcomed addition to my Super INT build, hMP set, and my Enfeebling Accuracy equipment! Thankfully my horrid lots could not be out done by even more horrid lots!

Interesting story with this next screen shot. Basically, I wake up at 4AM, head right over to Tiamat, and to my surprise it's sitting there unclaimed. The only Linkshell that knew about this was a fairly new (and fairly stupid, sorry but it's true) one, who was gathering at the time. We begin to gather; they looked ready so I brought it to them with Dia. Now, this wasn't an MPK attempt, of course. They simply looked ready and Tiamat looked very lonely. What would you have done? I would have brought them the dragon, and that's exactly what I did.

Well, somehow they managed to hold it...for 1 hour and 30 minutes (possibly with the help of their new Linkshell bank-stealing server transfer Aegis PLD). The GMs we called did nothing, of course, because they were obviously trying to kill regardless of how long it stayed above 95% (it only got down to this point as the GM made his appearance, it hovered at 99% after the GM left again). Anyways, after this long hour and a half they begin to wipe. It goes yellow once, I casted Stun but it didn't claim it and they somehow reclaimed it.

At this point, they teamed up with Prophets. Well, it was a team up for awhile. I'm not quite sure of the agreement that they made, but Prophets ended up getting Gaiters leaving Ressurection shit. Too bad, so sad, whatever.

That was the GM that responded. I used to like him. I don't any more. Oh well.

Moving on from stupid drama, I did Ultima with FoReal for the first time (pretty odd, it's actually only the second time I've ever done Ultima). The drops were less than exceptional, but I wasn't displeased.

It was free lot, and I asked if I could because Whimmy has one and I want to match. Well, now we match. Very welcome addition to my Dark Magic macros as well as curing.

Later the same day, we discovered Voluptuous Vivian was up. Now, the ring isn't that great looking at its stats, but it's an excellent trophy item. Well, it dropped, and I got the second highest lot. Grats Rumo and stop it with those 900+ lot hacks. :(

Random things:

He really didn't want to go.

Skilling up is fun. Whimmy looks cool, I look nasty. :(

Apparently we've gotten two Ridills this Nidhogg cycle. I wasn't there for either, due to their inconvenient timing, but congratulations to Tokisada (who somehow managed to stay awake for once) and Meibourne (it's really for his PUP). Even more interesting, our most recent Fafnir (the one that dropped Mei's Ridill) we kited. I really would have loved to be there...but sadly I wasn't. It didn't flail, though, which frankly surprises me.

Anyways, I guess that's all...oh wait...

!

...

<3 Thank you, FoReal.

Running to Tiamat 12% faster, as soon as Baos is reactivated...until next time. ^^

It's really funny how one thing can lead to another and then... [Please Don't Chew The Stop Signs explanation removed by request!]. :)

Lots has gone on lately - most of it not FFXI-related - but I've just been too lazy to update. It's actually fun to write these, so I should do it more, but it distracts me from my habit of doing nothing beneficial with my time.

I'll bring up two very lovely points using one picture:

1.) My shoes are ugly. I suppose that's why you see me at Tiamat...still...since November now. I also finally started seriously working on getting my Yigit Crackows and I'm only 6 Assaults away now. Hopefully I'll have those soon.

2.) Whimmy is extremely awesome. That'd be the cute little Taru you see in the picture, wearing his nice new Shadow Hat. We do everything together but I'd be lying if I said I minded. :) Recently (read: very recently), I redecorated my Mog House because (I thought) he was upset at me and I was rather frantic. Well, now I have a ncely decorated Mog House and we're both happy. It does need more furniture though, so we need to start doing those seasonal event things.

Apparently, it was meant as a praise, but I'm not too certain!

Anyways, I'll carry on to some of the things the Linkshell has been doing. I actually feel like starting with what we have not been doing: sea! We were supposed to do Jailer of Love for some time now, but that still hasn't happened. In related sea news, Whim and I are now 1/4 on Jailer of Prudence; hopefully his drops soon.

Something we have done: Bahamut. We kept our same record as our last set of runs - 1 Bahamut's Mask and 0 Bahamut's Staffs. Something good did come out of it though! Whimmy and I are HOES BUDDIES.

Wow! Hurray! Cool! Hoorj! Etc.

We've been doing much better on Cerberus and Khimaira lately - I believe we've gotten well over 80% of the pops this month.

Cerberus stopped dropping Algol - it was probably as confused as our tanks were. Or maybe they enjoyed looking at Cerberus's ass. Who knows? :)

Our first Hauteclaire in 33 kills resulted in this:

Huge congratulations to Hieisuin. :)

Random fact - This is what happens when someone tries to suggest Whimmy has AIDs:

*I'll remove it if you don't want it here. Lol<3

I've been trying to level my Bard steadily. It's half working: I'm 37 now, that is half way. Right? Right?! Hehe. My endgame gear for it hasn't changed much. Not that I expected it to, it's only at a subbable level, after all.

Random fact -Talking about Whimmy's hair is fun:

*I'll remove that too, maybe.<3

Our Dynamis luck has been rather...meh. :( We still haven't seen a Chapeau since December which is rather upsetting. Also, there's no Dynamis tomorrow since Jhun's account was hacked. These RMT are seriously pissing me off. I honestly wouldn't be to appauled to see one dropped into a pool of acid, but that's just my opinion.

Somehow, I don't have any screenshots of my newest friend on Bismarck, Lia. This is upsetting. I need pictures of him and my redecorated Mog House as soon as possible. :D

Recently, Whimmy and I have discovered a lovely way to duo Jailer of Prudence. No, I will not tell you how we did it, but I will tell you what we got!

Yeah, that's right, Prudence Torque, on only our second fight. We need another for Whimmy of course, after that we'll be fine with giving you the strategy, at least I think we will, I'll have to take that up with him. :P

Hopefully our luck remains constant, and it comes fast, but I'm not really expecting it, I guess. More sea tomorrow, hopefully Jailer of Love, now that I have 2 sets. Maybe this will provide for more interesting updates, who knows? ;)

In the process of duoing Limbus with Whim for his Morrigan's Robe, I've managed to obtain another lovely piece for my up and coming (but not at the moment, fuck you Nours<3) Bard, a Musical Earring.

Musical Earring

5 Wind Skill just on an earring is simply amazing, if you're a Bard and don't have this, I would recommend picking it up. Of course, looking at my job levels, you may not want to take all of my Bard advice to heart.

Now, that doesn't mean I haven't played it because I have, and enjoy it very much so. I know it's one of those jobs that the majority of people find boring, but whatever. Bard is more awesome than you. :(

Anyways, here's some of the rest of my Bard:

Squint if you have to read it! I'm not going to make it any bigger or else it would go outside the table and I'm a LJ noob and have absolutely no idea how to fix that. Oh well.

Aside from that, I guess the things I'm currently working on are Sha'ir Manteel and Sheikh Gages because doing things faster is awesome. Aside from that, I really want to get into Nyzul and Salvage particularly for Goliard Clogs and Marduk's Tiara, which are both very awesome. :D

I guess I'll leave this entry to a close by saying Tiamat is a whore. It always pops after I fall asleep (this time it was actually on my computer desk that I fell asleep), and then only bother to drop Damascene Cloth and a Wyrm Horn. What a bitch!

First of all, here are Dynamis - Buburimu's drops. They were pretty decent all-in-all. I have seen better, but I've also seen far worse.

Congratulations to all of you, including myself, I suppose.

I felt a need to post this...not because I'm happy I got it or anything...but more because I'm pissed off at it.

Such stupid drama over such a stupid little belt. 1 INT really won't get you very far, especially since it's lacking the Enmity-3 found on the Penitent's Rope, making this piece optimal only for soloing or for various manaburn situations, or anywhere else where Enmity won't really be of any importance.

Next update should include something more worthwhile to read, I promise.

Oh! Another LiveJournal for you to look at while you're bored, and for me to work on while I'm bored!

Or you may not want to look at it (I don't care), but it gives me something to do, so I'll update it to my liking.

As you may or may not know, I transfered over to Bismarck from lolTitan. Anyways, I've been here since about the end of October and I enjoy it a lot more than I did Titan. Aside from the relative decrease of drama by approximately 200%, I'm now in a Linkshell I can actually stand, that being FoReal.

Within my short time in FoReal, I've already made some awesome (or not so awesome, I'm looking at you, Whimmy <3) friends. Also, I've noticed a large amount of people are transferring from Titan to Bismarck (must be an everyone is doing it kind of thing, I really don't know) which is also cool.

I've also found myself obtaining a decent amount of goodies - random and useful - including my Dalmatica.

That's me camping Tiamat. Oh boy! You should try it, it passes the time so very well. Only, last time it popped during the Linkshell's Odin run, so it was claimed by the only other Linkshell that camps Tiamat, Prophets. This made me :(.

But Odin drops were decent! I don't have pictures (long story involving me missing early Einherjar runs and not having Odin access), but the drops included Valkyrie's Fork, Shadow Cuishes (what is with this spelling?), Zenith Mitts, and something else not worth mentioning as I don't remember it.

I'll leave more rambling for next time, including my never ending quest for Yigit Crackows, progress of my BRD which I've decided to level but haven't gotten to yet, and random other things!

Rawrrrr...
